Hey, Kay Somji here, thanks for stopping by the blog, here’s a bit about me.
Born and raised in East London, England.
Went to school, did rather well, played sports (football, cricket, tennis, squash, swimming and diving) and played a bit of music (drums and piano) pretty standard.
I always did well in school, my parents made sure of that, but towards university I lost a lot of focus.
I knew I didn’t want a job when I was older, I just didn’t know what I wanted to do yet.
I come from a long line of self-employed business owners so genetically, there was no way I was going to go and work for someone.
I emigrated to Canada with my family where I attended the University of Calgary. I didn’t manage to keep the same level of focus as I had in earlier school years.
My mind was always wandering, and I was always pursuing small entrepreneurial ventures to make some side cash.
I joined network marketing in 2006, I was captivated by it.
The model, the mindset, the support, the ways to help people and of course the residual income, I was in love. I had found exactly what I was looking for. I took what money I had and borrowed the rest and joined at a more expensive option than I could afford because I saw the potential leverage.
I had some small initial success recruiting friends very quickly, only for most of them to leave me soon after and having burned through my list I turned to “traditional” cold market “strategies” of handing out cards, posting up flyers etc.
I knew there had to be a better was so I went online looking for answers.
I did this while I was supposed to be studying, I’d be at university at midnight, revising for an exam, yet I’d just spent an hour researching network marketing strategies.
I found something called Magnetic Sponsoring…and it changed everything for me. I knew this was how network marketing should be done. People coming to me about my business, not me chasing them.
Since I was still in university, pursuing two degrees, I had a hard time juggling all of this effectively. This transitioned me into The In-Between Years…
The Corporate Dream…
In 2011, I landed my first corporate job as a financial risk analyst for one of the world's largest oil and gas firms. I really thought I was living the dream … this is what I had been working my whole university degree towards.
That was short-lived, I was only there for 22 months and haven’t had another job since.
Jobs weren’t for me, I was always looking for new ways to outsource my work, and then surprised my bosses that I was done in a couple of hours per day. Ssshhh, don’t tell anyone 😛 My managers would even come to me and tell me to “look busy” even if I had nothing to do. I quickly realised that this was not the place to realise leverage.
Fast Forward to Today
And I’ve not only been able to create success for myself by attracting people to me, I’ve been able to help countless others in their own businesses as well.
I’m now a well-known name in the (online) network marketing community because of the value I provide to marketers all over the globe.
I’ve even been able to hang out with such top earners as Ray Higdon (pictured below). If you don't know who he is look him up, seriously!
The cool thing was I’ve been able to do this all from home, without ever having to bug friends and family or strangers 🙂
Apart from marketing and mentoring, I lead a very active social life.
Some of my favourite activities include football (soccer if you're North American :P), cricket, tennis, squash, strength training, playing drums and piano, martial arts, reading, and doing some crazy out of the box kind of things.
I'm sharing this About Me section with you to inspire you.
You are a creative wonderful human being, don't be bound by the limitations put on you. Your life is for you to flourish, enjoy, and provide value to others along the way; this is what I aim to do every day.
I hope this has given you a small look into my life and provide you an inspiration to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
To Your Continued Success
