A lot of the people you talk to about your network marketing business will be strangers. These people don't know you from a hole in the wall yet, so you don't want to go straight for the close. People buy from people they know, like and trust. In order to do this you need to build rapport with your network marketing prospects. Create a relationship with them and focus on their needs before you attempt to recommend anything to them.
The main thing is to always be present in the moment. This means listening to the other person, and having authentic communication with them. So if somebody asks you about a specific topic, you want to address that, you don't want to take the conversation on your own agenda.
In this industry, we want to be able to help people, we want to help them take certain products that will benefit them, and perhaps join us in business if they have a need that we can fill. This is fine, but we need to help them out at their own pace.
What Information to Send Your Network Marketing Prospects
Drop the agenda!
Don't have an agenda.
Don't have a schedule of what you want to show them.
Listen to what they're saying, and respond and help them with what they're looking for.
When they do ask for some information or advice, you want to send them information that will benefit them, not the information that you want to show them.
When done correctly, these people will become your best network marketing leads.
When you send somebody to something that isn't what they're looking for, it repels people and makes you appear as though you're just after their money. So many people do this to me still, and it turns me off. I'll maybe ask them how their marketing is going, or what stuff they're doing on Facebook, and they tell me it's going great and send me their link to join their business … BIG NO NO.
This isn't like a real conversation, you wouldn't talk to a friend like this. If you did, you'd have no friends left!
ALWAYS BE PRESENT IN THE MOMENT. Got that? 🙂
The art really is in listening, and tailoring what you say to your prospect's needs. Also, don't be so factual, facts tell and stories sell. In summary, always be present in the moment, be authentic, let the conversation run its natural course, and help people with the things they want help with, not what you want to show them. When you do this right, people will become attracted to you and want to work with you. People have a natural attraction to people who help them.
